We need help figuring out what expenses to cut, what we can live without, and how we can save for retirement.
We could use some help learning how to set and stick to a budget that works so we can start saving for a down payment on a house.
This looks like a great site. With my husband’s demanding schedule we have not taken the time we need to set up a functioning budget and plan for our future. Thanks for the great info!
We need help with our spending habits. Better yet, I need help with that and hubby needs help with telling me no. We married not even 3 years ago, I’m a stay at home mom (and yes, when boredom strikes, I go shopping) and in that time frame we have managed to build up over $70,000 in debt between credit cards, a new vehicle, a jet ski, a boat, a new ac/heating system for the house and most recent a new sofa. Add the house in to our debt and we’re looking at $250k debt! We plan to build our dream home in 5 years and have children to put through college eventually, we need help getting this debt out of our way!
This looks like an interesting site, glad I clicked on the link. My husband I are looking forward to an early retirement, and are definitely interested in any articles etc. that can provide ideas to help us reach our goals.
Financial guidance would be welcome at this stage in the game. My fiance and I are planning on marrying this year. Money and finances has always been a bit of an issue for us. I have no debt. I have no credit cards. On the other hand, he has student loans and credit cards.. It would be great to get some advise on how to mesh the two.. At this time, I have already contributed to my retiremeny account for the past 10 years; He does not have any. Since we are getting married this year, this is a joint expense, as well as needing another vehicle. I had my vehicle, which is now ten years old. He just uses mine. Any and all help would be wonderful. Money isn’t everything, but it is the root of most problems I see in mariages. I would like to avoid all that if possible.
I can say I am open minded to receiving guidance on finances. I am sure my wife to be and I could both benefit from this. I have some credit card debt, and student loans, along with our everyday bills. At this point, i am not sure if it is wise to pay more off on my credit cards or stash money in savings for the wedding…. We both have conflicting ideas for this.
Please HELP !!!
We haven’t sought financial advice since before the economy tumbled, and I’d like to make sure we are still using the right strategy. We are currently working on paying down a second mortgage on our townhome, while simultaneously setting aside a small nest egg as savings for a future house. No credit card debt and enough going to the 401K to get the company match…
I need help making a budget and my husband needs help telling me to stick to it! Hopefully this site will help!
I definitely see my husband and I benefiting from this site. He is unemployed (and has been for 7 mths) and not finding anything that pays more then unemployment benefits. My job was recently cut to part-time and I haven’t had any luck finding full time employment. We are spending less on the extras but other expenses such as rent and car payments have not changed. We both would love to pay off old debt (credit cards, school loans, etc) but do not have “extra” money to do so. We have been married for almost 7 years and have two young children. My biggest fear is that we will never get out from under this cloud of debt and be able to enjoy life, buy a house or even go on vacation! AND we have no savings and cut up the credit cards a long time ago… can you help?
This site looks great since both my husband and I can use some financial advise. I am looking forward to what I can learn from this site and be able to save more money without having to spend money to find out how. I do not want to buy a plan.
We could use it to help set a budget for our family of 6.
My husband and I are working towards paying off all our student loan/car debt before we have kids so we are in a better position for me to be a stay at home mom. While we have a plan in place we would love the help of a financial advisor to see where we could be doing better and perhaps reach our goal sooner.
We are a family of 5 (3 little girls, that means 3 future college funds, and weddings…) living on one income. When our second child was born my husband was laid off from his job. We went 3 months living completely on credit 6 months later we found out that we were expecting number 3. Our middle child is now 3 and we are still paying down that debt. I would like to further my education and can’t do that until we are debt free. Please help us!
My husband is uber frugal. I am not. We tend to meet in the middle which keeps things generally smooth. But at times our extremes cause problems. Our goal is to live by the 10-10-80 rule. I have trouble with the second 10!
